Tiny Seats and Drinking Pool

Again we were frustrated by the incredibly early starts that the Vietnamese like to have on their tours and bus journeys! This was a 7am - so up at 6 to pack and eat - that's no holiday! It wouldn't have been so bad if it wasn't for the tiny Asian seats which don't allow you enough room for the width of western shoulders, let alone sleeping!

On the bus we met and Aussie family who own a farm near Adelaide which they'd rented out for an entire year whilst the four of them went travelling. When I asked them what was harder - running a farm or travelling with two little ones they didn't seem to be able to make any firm decisions!

Sitting behind us on the bus were Suzie (a physio) and Nicky (an Occupational Therapist) from Munich who were disappointed to be missing Oktoberfest. We ended up finding a nice guesthouse with them after a long walk and eventually giving in and getting a moped to take us round! it worked out rather well at Hui Yen guesthouse with us sharing a balcony overlooking the sea! Awesome.

By the time we'd gone for a swim, had a snooze, played guitar and eaten it was very dark (well it was only 6pm but that's when it gets dark here due to the interesting time at which they set their clocks - they just love getting up early)! Anyway, being too lazy to walk very far and having found out that a 750ml bottle of vodka was GBP2.33 it was time for some drinking pool in the guesthouse! We looked particularly good dressed in our Vietnamese cone hats I feel!

Retiring to the balcony it turned out that Suzie was actually very good at the guitar after lots of complaining about us making her play. Now she's taking on the role of teacher so be ready for music to astound coming soon from yours truly!
