Full Moon Party!
So after some hassle with the lady we'd booked our boat tickets with (ie we were at the pier ready to go at 2pm when we were supposed to, she'd screwed up and wanted us to come back at 5.30pm - not likely) we got a free upgrade to the catermaran service to Ko Phangnan! Martin and I joined some Thai and Japanese guys on the roof of the catermanaran's VIP lounge which was stupidly windy...but not too windy to get a great shot of Martin doing a Kung Fu pose! The roof also served as an awesome sunbed!
The whole day seemed to be formed of random meetings with people we'd met before. Hat Rin and the beach party were awesome! There was so much food to eat...lots of great Pizza I seem to remember and more than enough buckets to sink a battleship as Martin would say. I think we chose the right party as we unusually had space to move about on the beach. We decided Cactus Bar was the place to be cos it was playing rock/pop/R&B/chillout etc, which meant better music and fewer pillheads cos they were all getting off on the psyche trance down further on down the beach!
Martin and I got massive dragons drawn across our chest in glow paint, as did Katie and Anne (though not on their chests!). Meanwhilst the woman who was supposed to be pulling the punters in started trying to arrange a rondez-vous with me later!! Very kind offer but it had to be refused!
It was an awesome party and after some commando missions down the rocks and into the sea and a few other necessary challenges we toured the beach for the night with our Pizzas and Samsongs and occasionally another redbull to keep ourselves awake! Loads of firedudes as usual too which was cool to see.
The sun headed up surprisingly early at which point we tried to head to the afterparty but were far too early! The girls had sought sanctuary in the restaurant/bar we'd been at that evening as predicted so it didn't take too long to find them! Headed back to Joe's as the afterparty wasn't started and chilled out in Hammocks. I planned to go for a swim but alas the bay was only 10cm deep with water!
Ordered yet more pancakes to try and take the taste of buckets away. Suddenly we realised Martin's camera had gone missing and went out searching for it but no luck. Was really annoying as all our pics of the full moon party were on it along with some from other days when we'd been in the water and needed a waterproof camera. With tiredness this didn't help and we all just felt homesick. Headed back and to bed, then went climnbing up some mountains as couldn't sleep! Watching Shark's Tale that evening at the Mexican helped everyone chill out again though I think...and Katie and I decided we were going to get up early and go see some real sharks!
