Krabi's Limestone Karst Islands
Whislt the girls went off to Ko Phi Phi, Martin and I thought we'd take a tour of the beautiful limestone Karst landscape around Krabi. This was the first time we'd actually had a ladyboy guide so all-in-all quite an experience of a day. We reached some beautiful desert islands. After being a bit alarmed about the jellyfish I almost stepped on the boatman we were with reassured us it was safe to touch them. It was a bit like bubble plastic with a jelly coating! We then found some baby ones which looked like ideal jelly biscuits...tasty!
The next island was apparently good for snorkeling - though there seemed to be too much suspended silt on the day we were there, but it had a rope swing into the water so we managed to amuse ourselves!
Lunch was accompanied with Komodo Dragons on the island of Ko Hong. We went for a little kayaking tour around there too to a beautiful lagoon. Getting back was a bit more of a challenge as the weather was generally worsening and then started raining on us for the first time yet! Not really a problem though as it was still warm. Back on the island we needed a beer...and then our beer needed pimping, so we attended to its needs!
Headed to Crazy Pub in Krabi - the best locals pub in the area and they weren't joking. There was an awesome band playing there called Bypass Band...going to be huge in the UK next year probs though they did have the unforunate problem of playing Robbie Williams' Better Man whilst we were there! They also played that Thai tune which is on everywhere and so the lighters went in the air! at 90Baht a beer though we decided to leave...especially as all anyone else seemed to be buying was buckets of ice so we must have been doing something wrong.
Ended up in a tourist put being served by yet another ladyboy...one more to the count!
