The Scottish Opera House

Finally I made it in time to the Opera House, well nearly...five minutes late after getting up only 30 minutes before but hey, I was on the next tour. The inside of the Opera House was really impressive, though we weren't allowed to take photos indoors (useful) so the only internal structure shot you can get is of the coffee shop!

The halls were massive though and the acoustics amazing...one day maybe I'll see something in one of them! Somehow I bizarrely timed it so that I had come up here on Scott's School presentation day...so as I stepped out of the Opera House after the tour I was greeted by what seemed like a hundred bagpipers playing the scotch snap! Awesome sight and sound - check out the video!

Along through The Rocks (old-town Sydney) to my next stop at the observatory with its great views out across the bay and a great film about Captain Cook finding Australia which reminded me a little of Hornblower. Great escapist family entertainment.

A stroll across the bridge gave great views of the Opera House, the bay and the skyscrapers...and then at the other end of the bridge what did I find...a 50m swimming pool! Good job I've always got my swimshorts and towel packed so in I went after buying a replacement pair of goggles after my stupidly expensive ones which are probably still lying at the bottom of a boat moored somewhere near Ko Phe Phe. Two lots of sport in two days - good job!

Joe is an evil bastard - its official...I mean you walk up to a guy and boot him in the butt (only gently mind) and he turns around looking like he's going to tear you limb from limb...I mean really - have a bit of control man!! :-p It was Joe's last night at the Wakeup which had practically become his home, so a fond farewell for him and a big Happy Birthday to Nats made, once again, for another loud loud night!
