Island Boat Tours

Surprisingly we made the boat tour the next morning...even though the girls stormed off probably in the hope we wouldn't!!
First stop at general purpose desert island yielded snorkeling with loads of Trigger Fish and Banner Fish, a chillout/sunabathe session and some lunch. Then we hit Monkey Island - actually part of Ko Tao and devoid of monkeys! Clever name! Then we made one of the rougest crossings of the sea in a longtail boat to the island where the beach was filmed. We had to throw ourselves into the swelling sea and swim to some rocks and haul ourselves out through a little cave to get on the island! Unsurprisingly a fair few people got quite battered on the rocks...coming back was actually more difficult as you had to fight against the sea pounding you back onto the rocks - at least on the way in you could ride the waves and keep your feet infront of you to stop you bashing any vital parts!

Beautiful tepid and calm waters there though which were a pleasant surprise considering what we'd just swam across. Eventually we realised we must go back at some point.
The crossing on the longboat back to Ko Phi Phi was not really to the amusement of the girls we think! With 3 metre plus swells and proper sucking action where you could see the water at the bottom being pulled up to the top of the wave, it was a bit worrying! I decided it definitely wasn' a time to abandon my lifejacket and swim for shore if I went in!! Held Martin's bag with my by now drenched and completely unfunctioning camera in just incase we did topple! It was a great rollercoaster of a ride and we were more soaked than we'd have ever got on a log flume by the time we got back! Awesome!!!
Got reward pancakes when we got back from the slowest pancake maker in the world. He even handed it over to you so slow that you f
elt like just grabbing it from him! Some crazy inverse-speed drug must have been in use here!

I think I'd been talking a bit too much about Carbonara on the way down (Simon-Tuesdays withdrawal symptoms maybe?!) so we all ended up with Carbonara and a coctail. Class. Headed out to Apaches again and oh my god I've never seen a boy wiggle his hips so much. Total ladyboy in the making and an actual ladyboy dancing with him! Got a vid but not clear atm so will lighten it when home an sho you all. Terrible stuff but all the easier for a few buckets!
