Ted's Tour Day 1
So early the next morning four h
ungover chappies manage to make it out of the hostel on the slightly late side to be whisked-off to our first stop in the blue mountains for a curative coffee. For some reason the tour then takes a detour to a vineyard...and that's probably the last thing any of us needed! But the wine was rather good even if none of us were really feeling it! The huge cuban cigars in the corner of the room started a debate about whether you could smoke a cigar on a surfboard
...and me being me I then made a bet with Nicky that you could, and more to the point that come Christmas Day I'd surf whilst wearing a santa hat and smoking a cigar. Now really...why did I ever think that would work?!
I made an afternoon stop at a very local bar to buy some ice in what seemed like a ghost-town it was so
quiet. Most of the rest of the day was taken up with driving vast distances whilst learning guitar and listening to music. That night we made it to Eulin Ranch - Ted's ranch, complete with swimming pool and flocks of screeching cockatoos. Martin's camera has a particularly great pick of me taking a dive, evidence that I can officially dive straight as an arrow into the pool! (Very proud.) That night it was time to go pig hunting. Luc
k really wasn't on our side at all but the four of us plus Daniel and Claire did get a beautiful drive around the outback just as the sun was setting which was pretty magical.
No-one goes hungry at Ted's...no matter whether you've caught a wee little piggy or not. All of us stuffed our faces on huge pieces of pork and lamb, stacks of cheesy spuds and a whole lot of salad. Yum yum!
